Porcelain or fiber reinforced resin crowns:
They are used in the majority of cases for
the front teeth. These types of crowns are very natural
looking; they reflect and diffuse light very similar
to natural teeth.
Gold crown: This type of crown is
used when appearance is not a concern; mostly on posterior
teeth. Gold crowns eliminates the possibility of wear
and chipping that exist with porcelain. Nothing beats
gold for pure longevity.
Porcelain fused to gold: They are
used greatly on posterior teeth that are visible when
the patient smiles. The gold provides increase strength
to resist the biting stresses and the porcelain provides
the cosmetic appearance.
Dr. Cabanillas will recommend you the one that best
fits your needs.
A dental crown is usually made and fitted in just
2 appointments.
